Fr. Kurien Elavunkal V.C
Fr. Kurien (Joy) was born on 17th November 1954, as the son of Thomas and Eliyamma of Elavunkal family. He completed his schooling from Kadaplamattam. He started his seminary life to become a priest for the Vincentian congregation in 1971. On 19th December 1982 he received priesthood and was ordained by Bishop Mar Sebastian Mankuzhikary. He is a post-graduate (MA) in Sociology. He has served as the vicar of Vakeri, Valayar, and Chulliyod parishes in Mananthavady diocese and Kattappuram (Koratty) parish of Changanassery arch diocese. He has worked as the director of various orphanages under the Vincentian congregation. He was a member of the Orphanage Control Board of Kerala Government for 10 years. He has also served as a Superior in Kasargod and Mysore centers of the congregation. Fr. Kurien now serves as the vicar of Karumathara parish in Thrissur arch diocese.
